Welcome to our home! This is what the Kitchen's Tour patrons experienced a few weeks ago. If you didn't stop by, you surely missed a good time. We welcomed over 400 guests through our home and they all oohed and ahhed over what you’re about to see here.
Please come in, what are you waiting for? Love these Fall wreaths for the front door? Contact Jim Irwin for your own handcrafted pair.
Be creative with your candelabras and do something a little bit different. Micro pumpkins instead of candles add an unexpected element of surprise.
Keeping with a light pallet for this Fall/ Thanksgiving table, we used lots of glass and crystal in our all glass dining room. Everywhere you turned you could see the table, which opened the room up to even more visuals.
I absolutely love using these glass cylinder containers I found at Pottery Barn years ago. They are double lined, so you can fill the “outer” section with something (micro pumpkins) while keeping the “inner” section for water and flowers (Hydrangeas from Jim Irwin).
For the place settings, most everything I used on this table was from our wedding registry. The yellow tinted water glasses were borrowed from my mother and these wonderful gold star burst chargers and lovely napkins were loaned from Domain XCIV.
Our wedding registry consisted of a mixture of patterns from Versace dinnerware, Baccarat crystal and Reed & Barton flatware from Neiman Marcus and P.S. The Letter, both in Fort Worth.
These are some of my very favorite candle sticks. They are soo versatile and work with just about anything. You can even turn them upside down and fill them with flowers or candy. Guess what? You're in luck. You can still purchase them — unlike the double-lined vases with all the pumpkins and Hydrangeas.
Tying in the perfect look to this table are the various gourds, unique pumpkins and of course, fresh picked Pomegranates from our yard. Topping off all the candle sticks with wood wrapped candles makes the table complete...acorns and all.
One of my favorite treasures are these hand blown glass pumpkins my mom found eons ago. She bought several sizes and colors and love using ALL of them for a powerful effect. Not only have I placed them up and down the dining room table, but I have also used them on the fireplace mantel to pull the look entire look together.
Let's not forget about the children’s table. No holiday dinner is complete without one. Here we have a wonderfully set table by Mark Vaughn. Domain XCIV was the home decor designer for our “Kitchen” table on the Tour. I came thisclose to buying the whole kit and caboodle, since our breakfast table was DESTROYED about a year ago when we sent it off to be refinished. We now eat on a plastic folding table...no joke.
Everything you see in these pictures you can purchase at Domain RIGHT NOW! This rustic table would be the perfect size for six, out of control, candy-loaded children to enjoy a thankful meal. These pretzel-back, brown linen chairs with metal nail heads complimented the entire theme of the table.
I absolutely adore the velvet pumpkins with “real” stems on the table, along with this perfect turkey.
Three layers of dishes on top of this cut velvet placemat makes each seat very inviting.
Place cards are always a nice addition to any table, and a great way to have some creative fun...or to keep the peace at a seated dinner.
And finally, don't forget to add a little sugar to the table for your little sugars to enjoy...while they are trying their best to misbehave.
I hope you've enjoyed November’s tablescape...giving you lots of inspiration when creating your own table for your Thanksgiving guests. And if you LOVE to Pinterest, click on the link at the top of this blog and Pin away!
I want to thank Fort Worth, Texas magazine’s videographer Steve Reeves and James Verheyen for the great pictures and here’s my video on creating this wonderful setting.
