Blackland Distillery
Blackland Distillery
Blackland’s four liquors — vodka, gin, bourbon, and rye whiskey — can now be found on liquor store shelves throughout Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton, and neighboring cities.
In a time when a simple product like hand sanitizer is scarce on grocery store shelves, Blackland Distillery has opted to make its own — and make it available for medical facilities, shelters, and individuals.
The Foundry District distillery, whose tasting room is currently closed, will produce gin-scented botanical hand sanitizer out of its production facility, using grain from craft malt house TexMalt. According to a statement from Blackland, the sanitizer follows FDA and World Health Organization guidelines, and is made with 71% ethanol, vegetable glycerin, and 29% reverse osmosis water. It’s also infused with Blackland Gin Botanicals.
The hand sanitizer will come in 8-ounce bottles and be sold for $7 at Blackland’s tasting room starting Monday. The tasting room will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Purchases are limited to two per customer, per day.
Additionally, customers can receive a free bottle of hand sanitizer (limited to two bottles per person) with the purchase of any spirits. Every restaurant, bar, or liquor store that carries Blackland spirits will receive a bottle as well.
Blackland will also be donating sanitizer to local medical facilities and shelters.
According to a statement from Blackland, “At this time, we’re pivoting from alcohol production to hand sanitizer production — because we can, and because it’s important to the health and safety of our community.”
