Red Productions
Hold Down the Fort
When COVID-19 forced Red Productions to put a halt on the majority of its projects, the Fort Worth-based video production company knew it couldn’t just slow down.
Instead, they kept the cameras rolling. In early April, Red Productions released a video highlighting 26 local businesses and, with the help of marketing and public relations company J.O., launched Hold Down the Fort — an initiative to raise money for local businesses and provide meals to frontline workers.
Fort Worth-based screen-printing company Printed Threads made T-shirts for the campaign, with proceeds going toward catering orders that will be delivered to hospital staff. So far, over $5,700 has been raised through T-shirt sales and sponsorships.
“The good news is seeing how our team has innovated during this time,” says Red Sanders, president of Red Productions.
Of course, both Red Productions and J.O. are small businesses themselves. Thankfully, with the help of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program, both companies have been able to keep staff employed as they work remotely.
“It’s been hard not being able to be with everybody and brainstorm ideas,” J.O. founder Jennifer Henderson says. “We thrive on our energies so much.”
Along with Hold Down the Fort, Red Productions is also partnering with the Rainwater Charitable Foundation to provide masks to the community. Over the past few weeks, they have provided over 185,000 masks to people in Tarrant County, with more shipments expected.
