Grab your snacks, folks, because the real MVP of Super Bowl LIX predictions has arrived. Forget Tom Brady, Terry Bradshaw, or Jimmy Johnson — Bubbles the hippopotamus at the Fort Worth Zoo is calling the game.
On Feb. 6, this 2,332-pound aquatic powerhouse waded through her usual routine of chilling in her habitat to make a bold call: the Kansas City Chiefs are taking the W this Sunday. How did she come to this conclusion? Simple. Bubbles, a mammal with zero experience in football strategy, was presented with a dilemma: apple and carrot slices stuck to her habitat glass, each accompanied by a team logo — Chiefs on the left, Eagles on the right. Three minutes. No hesitation. She made her choice.
In a move worthy of a last-minute Hail Mary, the zoo pulled Bubbles out of her off-season slump. After all, they’ve only correctly predicted a winner once in the past decade — no pressure, right? But it’s not all about the glory. This "game" is about enriching Bubbles’ environment and enhancing her psychological well-being, proving once again that the true winners are the animals (and their zookeepers, who desperately need a win).
So, whether Bubbles is right or wrong, let’s all take a moment to appreciate her contribution to what might be the very first three–peat in NFL history.
