Fort Worth is due up for a music festival after COVID-19 canceled nearly every major live event last year.
But it looks like the city is slowing getting back into the swing. Fort Worth-based record label TRND (pronounced "trend") Music has announced it will host TRND Fest on June 5 from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Wild Acre Live, the new, two-stage music venue on the property of Wild Acre Brewing at 1734 E. El Paso St. More than 15 artists are expected to perform — including Emma Oliver, Ronnie Heart, Megan Elaine, and Roane — with local personality Tony Green hosting the event.
TRND Fest will be one of the first music events to take place at Wild Acre Live, which is managed by Fortress Presents, the company that runs Fortress Festival. Though Fortress Festival is canceled once again for 2021, Fortress Presents is looking to bring more events to Wild Acre, with TRND Fest essentially being the "soft opening" for the venue, says Fortress co-founder Ramtin Nikzad.
According to the TRND, the festival's projected turnout is about 500 – 750 attendees. TRND is currently looking for vendors who could set up tents and sell their goods through the duration of the festival; food and drink vendors, however, are not allowed.
TRND has been a label on the rise thanks to its growing clientele and regularly held open mics at Ampersand's Bledsoe Street location. As a full-service production company, TRND offers services ranging from recording to mixing and mastering, along with promotion and mentoring.
