Picture this: a dimly lit theater, the hush of anticipation, and above you — a universe unfolding in breathtaking color. Now, add a soundtrack. Not just any soundtrack, but a live, soul-stirring performance that weaves through the cosmos projected across a massive dome. This describes “Live From The Omni,” a new event series from the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, set to launch at the Jane & John Justin Foundation Omni Theater. It’s where music meets the vastness of space, and the result is pure magic.
The series kicks off on April 24 with a performance by Fort Worth’s own Jacob Furr, a multi-instrumentalist and award-winning songwriter with a gift for storytelling. Furr’s music is already cinematic — rich with emotion and depth — but imagine it soaring alongside a celestial ballet of cosmic imagery.
“Live From The Omni” isn’t content with just bringing live music to a unique venue; it’s about transforming the way audiences connect with sound and sight. The marriage of science, technology, and art in this space is unparalleled, promising an evening that feels both intimate and infinite.
“We’re looking forward to our first Live ‘From The Omni’ concert,” says Nikki Diller, vice president of collections, interpretation, and programs at the FWMSH. “This event series is the perfect way to engage a different area of our community with the theater’s new technology, by partnering with local musicians and using the capabilities of the Jane & John Justin Foundation Omni Theater to create immersive environments.”
And this is just the beginning. The lineup for “Live From The Omni” will continue to expand, welcoming a diverse array of artists whose sounds will be elevated by the theater’s state-of-the-art projection and acoustics. Each performance promises a unique fusion of music and mesmerizing visuals — no two nights will be the same.
