Nothing starts the fall season off better than a three-day German tradition featuring wonderfully brewed German lagers, beautifully dressed ladies in German style dresses and German food in the heart of Fort Worth. The 2015 Fort Worth Oktoberfest is located at Panther Island Pavillion and is a celebration providing live music, games, a parade, even a Miniature Dachshund dog race and of course beer on September 24 - 26. This festival is not just for the avid beer drinker, but it is a family-friendly event providing fun for all age groups.

Thursday and Friday the gates open at 5 p.m. and go until 10 p.m. with Saturday being a full day starting at 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. The festival begins with the tapping of Zie kegs from Spaten starting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night. Each day of the event there is a stein hoisting competition starting at varying times.

Friday the 2015 Young Professionals Oktoberfest Olympics goes on from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Before the festival opens up on Saturday there is a fun run and walk starting at 9:30 a.m. and going till 11 a.m. Once the gates open on Saturday there is a Dachshund parade starting at 1 p.m. followed by a Dachshund race at 2 p.m. A bier wench carrying competition and bier barrel rolling race going on a varying times caps off the three-day venture.

All three days will have live music by various artist both locally and nationally known inside the Spaten Hall Stage and outdoor stage within the Panther Island Pavilion location. Food such as German sausages, schnitzels, giant Bavarian pretzels, fresh made crepes and more will be available for purchase. Go ahead and get your German game on and bring the whole family for a three-day celebration you will never forget.
