Follow me on the Moon
Fifty years ago, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first men to step foot onto the moon. This Friday, your own space crew can toast to humanity’s interstellar feat with a fleet of fun.
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s Moonwalk shindig. Part of the museum’s ongoing Science on Tap events, get in on some hands-on activities on the history of space travel. Wine, beer, and soda will also be available for those running low on rocket fuel.
The mission plan includes taking your hand in flight inside the Lockheed Martin F-35 Cockpit Simulator. Maybe a curated selection of space cinema from short films is more up your alley. If you’re feeling extra spacey, dance teacher Brigette Marquardt will be on deck teaching the famed Moonwalk.
VIP tickets get you into a private social hour from 6 to 7 p.m., where you can enjoy shortened lines and early access to the bar, activities, and a few surprises the museum has in store.
Cost is $20 for general admission and $30 for VIP. Tickets must be purchased by 5:30 p.m. Friday. Check out fwmuseum.org/exhibit/moonwalk for full details.
