1. 19th Annual Fort Worth Zoo Run
Grab your friends and family and participate in the Fort Worth Zoo's 19th annual Zoo Run. You can run as fast as a cheetah or take your time walking through the 1K or the 5K. If you are feeling your inner zoo animal want to express itself, you are in luck because the zoo is hosting its first Zoo Run Costume Contest. Registration is open online. The 1K begins at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K begins at 8 a.m.

2. #latenight Desserts After Dark
The Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival aims to help you unwind after a long week. 12 pastry chefs and 12 mixologists will craft special food and drinks using Firestone & Robertson's TX Blended Whiskey. Spend the night sampling the food and drinks and vote on your favorite. Beer and wine will also be available. DJ Jason Esquire will be playing music so you can dance the night away. Buy your tickets online and unwind at Panther Island Pavilion.

3. Rahr & Sons Oktoberfest 5K
Celebrate Opening Day with a run and Rahr & Sons beer. Wear your favorite jersey and hat and lace up your running shoes. The cost of the run gets you a hot breakfast, a custom pint glass and three beer samples. The Oktoberfest 5K begins at 9 a.m.

4. Texas Ink and Art Expo
Join talented tattoo artists as they showcase their work at the Texas Ink and Art Expo. Talented artists from around the DFW area will have booths set up at the show displaying their work and even working on bodies. If you are ready for some new body art, book an appointment with one of the artists attending the show. Single or three-day tickets can be purchased online. Save $5 at the door when you bring in a non-perishable food item to benefit the Tarrant County Food Bank.

5. Open Streets
Get up and get moving at Open Streets on Magnolia Avenue on Sunday, April 3. This event closes off Magnolia Avenue from Hemphill to 8th Avenue. Feel free to roll, stroll, exercise and have some fun from noon to 4 p.m. There will be activities provided along the route as well as an artisan market with handmade items. This is a free event open to the entire family.

6. Earth Party
Party for the Earth on April 3 at Magnolia Green Park. There will be live music, a recyclables fashion show and educational booths set up. Food trucks will be available and free lunch will be provided to those who volunteered for the Cowtown Cleanup. This is a great event to celebrate the Cowtown Cleanup and Earth Day.

7. Family Sunday Funday Picnic
The Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival hosts the whole family at Panther Island Pavilion. This picnic-inspired day is the only event hosted by the FWFWF that is family-friendly. Food trucks will be available with participating spots such as Taco Heads, Alchemy Pops and Lee's Grilled Cheese. There will be adult and kid beverages available. Kids 12 and under are free and tickets are available online for purchase.
