New York Fashion Week is happening as we speak, and while models and designers flex their latest looks down the runways of the Big Apple, local tailor and owner of Mener Grand Train, Phillip Maximilian, is working to bring a similar event to Fort Worth.
While the dates for Fort Worth Fashion Week have not yet been announced, the event will be celebrating with a launch party on Oct. 2, promising a high-fashion fête taking place from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Seven Lounge, a rooftop bar that recently opened at 3017 W. Seventh St. Per the event flyer, attendees are encouraged to "dress to impress," with a secret prize for whoever wins best-dressed.
Maximilian says guests should expect a Las Vegas-esque ambiance — think flash photography, art, DJs, dancing, and live performances, along with light bites, specialty drinks, and a champagne toast. NBC 5 news anchor Evan Anderson will serve as emcee, while Frost Bank is sponsoring the event.
As far as details on Fort Worth Fashion Week itself — that's under wraps until a later date. The event was supposed to take place last year — initial plans included a runway show highlighting local retailers and designers — but like most social gatherings of 2020, Fort Worth Fashion Week also got postponed due to COVID-19.
The launch party, however, is meant to give locals a taste of what's to come. It's open to guests ages 21 and up, and tickets are free.
