When classic rock legends Styx take the stage at Bass Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. on October 22, it will be a night of nostalgia. For many, it will be a chance to relive the glory days of ballad rock at its zenith. Although I'll admit I didn't really get into Styx until Adam Sandler referenced them in several of his movies, I can see why they were a big deal in the '70s and ‘80s. The hooks, the melodies, and of course the hair, am I right?
Now, as the band prepares to headline the 2025 UNT Health Legends Benefit Concert, fans have a chance to sing "Lady" at the top of their lungs while supporting a worthy cause. With unforgettable hits like "Renegade" and "Come Sail Away," this concert not only promises a rocking good time but also benefits student scholarships for future healthcare professionals.
Since its inception in 2013, the Legends Concert Series has amassed over $3 million to support UNT Health Fort Worth initiatives. Presented by JPMorgan Chase, proceeds from this year’s event will directly contribute to scholarships for students pursuing degrees in healthcare. Co-chaired by Fort Worth residents Michele and Fred Reynolds, along with Jill and Quintin Cassady, the event is sure to attract a spirited crowd eager to support a worthy cause.
Past Legends concerts have featured an impressive lineup of performers, including Three Dog Night, ZZ Top, Trisha Yearwood, and Vince Gill, making this event a staple in Fort Worth’s cultural calendar.
For those eager to catch Styx live while supporting a great cause, tickets will be available at unthealth.edu/legends on Tuesday, August 19, at 10 a.m., or through Lee Ann Embry at 817-735-0204. Don’t miss this chance to experience a night of rock and philanthropy, where the rhythms of the past meet the hope for a healthier future.
“This is a rare chance to experience a legendary band while supporting future healthcare professionals who will shape the well-being of our communities,” Quintin said. “We hope everyone will join us for an unforgettable night at Bass Hall.”
