TX Whiskey
Musician Summer Dean recently took part in "Couch Sessions" by TX Whiskey.
It’s a harsh stretch for many musicians. No gigs throughout the COVID-19 shutdown, in a lot of cases, means no cash flow. But Fort Worth’s favorite whiskey distiller aims to give them a new virtual venue.
TX Whiskey will be hosting "Straight From The Couch," a remote music experience hosted on the company’s Instagram (IGTV) and Facebook platforms at 8 p.m. on Fridays. This new series will replace regularly scheduled concerts at Whiskey Ranch due to social distancing guidelines.
Aptly named, Texas musicians will perform live from their couches while sipping some TX Whiskey. TX Whiskey will even feature the artist’s Venmo or PayPal accounts for virtual tipping.
“This is a way to give these musicians a platform to feature their music and also fundraise during a precarious time,” the company says in a news release. “TX Whiskey is also compensating the musicians for their performances to help support them.”
Shows are being planned for every week through April and into May. Previous performances have included Grady Spencer, Jesse Ebaugh & The Tender Things, and Summer Dean.
Upcoming artists include Mike and the Moonpies on April 17 and Carson McHone on April 24.
