A popular North Texas eatery that specializes in Tex-Mex cuisine will soon be here in Cowtown. That’s right foodie fans, the Campuzano franchise is all set to begin construction and retrofit what was once the Trinity Coffee House at 2700 Weisenberger Street.
“New ownership took over this property in 2022,” says Aaron Mabry, property manager for the Foundry. “I was brought on during that time to assist in the transfer of that property and then managing it moving forward. The ownership of the property is very adamant about improving the area and getting tenants in the vacant spaces and building that area for the community.”
Campuzano is a welcomed addition to this section of Cowtown since it suffered two business losses in the form of the wine bar, Thirty Eight & Vine, and the gourmet takeout shop Meyer & Sage, which will close this May.
When asked if Campuzano will offer the same menu items it offers at its popular Waxahachie spot, Mabry says he expects the menu to be pretty much the same.
Currently, Campuzano offers a sundry of Tex-Mex items that include, its Signature Diablo Shrimp, World Famous Campuzano Nachos, and a sizeable brunch menu to boot. Oh yeah — and for you libation fans, don’t forget the UBER Black Margarita. The new location will be the latest for the franchise that originated in Midlothian and now has locations in Cedar Hill, Waxahachie, and Dallas.
“I’ve seen some of the plans for this space and it looks like it’s going to turn out really, really well,” Mabry says. “They haven’t started the construction process yet; I think they are still getting everything sorted out, but we are really excited to have them at the property and see this area grow more and more.”
