Acre Hand Elixir
Like many distilleries around the nation — and around Fort Worth — downtown's Acre Distilling has also moved to production of hand sanitizer. And with the team bottling about 1,000 per day, the distillery is looking to increase production.
“As a business owner, it was difficult to close our doors, but it was just as heartbreaking to see those on our frontlines go without the most basic of supplies,” Acre Distilling owner Tony Formby said in a statement.
Acre is working with Arlington-based Ricca Chemical Company to produce Acre Hand Elixir, an FDA grade hand sanitizer. So far, Acre has sold or donated over 1,000 gallons of the product. With production increasing, Acre hired eight formerly laid-off restaurant workers to fill and label four- and eight-ounce bottles.
The hand sanitizer is available to both businesses and the general public. The distillery has also been donating bottles to organizations like the Ronald McDonald House, Meals on Wheels, and the Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments.
Customers can obtain a bottle with a curbside purchase of one of Acre's spirits. More information can be found on Acre's website.
