Near Southside popsicle shop Alchemy Pops is reopening — but also closing, announcing it will remain open through the summer but only until Aug. 1.
"Alchemy Pops is and will always be an incredible adventure in flavor and fun and friendships," owner Carolyn Phillips wrote in an Instagram post. "From birthday parties to kickball tournaments, from baby showers to corporate shindigs, you’ve invited Alchemy Pops into your lives to help you celebrate. And now I’m inviting you to do the same with me ... To be clear, this isn’t a pity party, it’s a pop party!"
The post did not state a specific reason for closure.
The shop at 411 S. Main St., Ste. 109, will reopen to the public on June 6 from noon to 7 p.m. It will remain open on weekends through June and July, leading up to Aug. 1, when Alchemy Pops celebrates its annual Weekend of Watermelon. The shop will also continue to offer curbside pickup, deliveries, and pop cart catering on any day of the week.
Alchemy Pops began in 2015, selling popsicles out of a cart and eventually growing in popularity, leading to the opening of a brick-and-mortar location in 2018.
When COVID-19 forced Alchemy Pops to temporarily close, Phillips launched an online cookbook, My Pantry Kitchen, donating 100% of proceeds from the e-book to the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
While Phillips has not yet announced what she plans to do next, she wrote in an email to Fort Worth Magazine that she "will be moving onto a new venture."
