New menu options at Austin City Taco Co. include bowls and salads, so you can enjoy your favorite taco sans the tortilla.
Just nine months after the grand opening, Austin City Taco Co. is ready to add Sunday hours, making it open seven days a week.
The Austin-inspired taqueria at 517 University Drive has carved out its own niche since opening there in the spring of 2019. The joint’s also tweaked the menu a bit to give the people more of what they want.
“The people have spoken, and we listened,” said Juan Rodriguez, who serves as culinary director for Austin City Taco Co. “After several requests to open on Sundays and provide alternative menu items, we’re excited to see Austin City Taco evolve in order to best serve our customers,” he says in a statement.
New menu options include bowls and salads, so you can enjoy your favorite taco sans the tortilla. The new Al Pastor Salad features marinated pork, shredded lettuce, chopped onion, grilled pineapple, cilantro, fresh jalapeno sauce, black beans, pickled carrot slices, queso fresco, and a lime wedge. And the new Sunshine Shrimp Salad, includes grilled gulf shrimp, Boston Bibb lettuce, tangy coleslaw, chopped grilled pineapple, pepitas, queso fresco and a lime honey vinaigrette. There’s also a new Rotisserie Chicken Bowl and a Brisket Bowl with Austin City’s tender oak-smoked Texas brisket.
You can now buy brisket by the pound from The Butcher Block section of the menu, as well as one half rotisserie chicken ― perfect for those bringing dinner home, or hosting a party.
For to-go orders only, family packs for four to six people are also available. These packs include bottled housemade sauce, and your choice of a whole rotisserie chicken with added fixings or a chicken tender dipper meal paired with Austin City Taco Co.’s Cheat Day! Queso and chips or fries.
They’ve even added a Build Your Own Taco option with your choice of corn or flour tortillas, beans, rice and an assortment of toppings. How’s that for customizable?
The new Kids’ Corner includes cheese, chicken or brisket quesadillas and a Chicken Tender Dipper kid’s meal with crispy fried chicken tenders on a bed of crispy fries, served with a small cup of Cheat Day! Queso, and a side of buttermilk ranch for dipping.
Now open seven days a week, the updated hours of operation include Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
