A Watauga BBQ fix has made its way east into a neighboring city.
Berry Best BBQ has already begun serving up the Lone Star State’s staple inside North East Mall in Hurst, and plans to make it official with a grand opening shindig to include music and refreshments at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 10.
Berry Best serves an East Texas style barbecue with a twist. Wataugans know it for its slightly spicy, seven-blend seasoning that owner John Berry says took years to perfect. The meats are slow-cooked for several hours in a specialized steel smoker. Sides like mac and cheese, baked beans, collard greens, and coleslaw are also being fixed up for mall-goers with the munchies.
While the new location’s menu will still feature the classics brisket, ribs, sausages, chicken, and bologna, the North East Mall menu will offer a handful of items not available at the first store.
You can fix your own plate in the North East Mall food court from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
