Buon Giorno Coffeehouse & Roastery has bid adieu to its Florence Street location, but business is now brewing on the ground floor of the First on 7th redevelopment project.
Buon Giorno’s new spot, open on Jan. 26, is tucked into the developing retail hub at at 500 W. 7th St., standing out with bright, sunny yellow walls and its iconic logo emblazoned on the outside. Originally First National Bank of Fort Worth, First on 7th is a 21-story tower designed by New York’s Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and associate architect Preston M. Geren & Associates of Fort Worth.
Owner David Clarke says the move deeper into downtown makes the shop more accessible to his regulars, and further helps downtown develop in tandem with several other recently opened retail offerings.
“We have always wanted to be a little closer to downtown Fort Worth as we have enjoyed seeing the development of Sundance and the amenities that have opened up, but also love the opportunity for downtown community within walking distance,” Clarke says. “We are really grateful to City Life Church for the use of their space over nine years, but feel that our new location is a huge upgrade and gives us a closer connection with downtown proper.”
Clarke also says to be on the lookout for a small range of gelato ice cream, yet to come this summer. Otherwise, Buon Giorno will continue to add new pastries and treats.
The coffee shop originally opened its Grapevine location in 2006, which eventually led to expansions in Fort Worth and Southlake.
