Love Local Coffee & Art Shop
The couple behind the Fort Worth Makers Market has a new venture in the works — think of it as a collision between coffee and culture.
Part-coffee shop, part-art shop, Love Local will open at 4612 SW Loop 820 with a collection of works by Dallas-Fort Worth artists, as well as coffee, snacks, and grab-and-go food options. The shop is the brainchild of Sara and Brandon Tucker, who also started Fort Worth Makers, the nonprofit that hosts the popular Fort Worth Makers Market.
True to its name, the shop will be decidedly local, featuring a curated collection of art and gifts made only by artisans from around the Metroplex. According to Sara Tucker, Love Local currently carries the work of about 30 local artisans. Custom murals and a rotating selection of larger artwork will also be on display.
The coffee is local too — Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters is the exclusive roaster. Though food partnerships have not been finalized, Tucker says the menu will include breakfast tacos, pastries, desserts, snacks, and lunch options, also delivered by small, local businesses.
According to Tucker, Love Local was originally scheduled to open in April but faced construction delays due to COVID-19. She hopes to open the retail portion of the shop in July and coffee shop in August. They're also working to put retail online.
"We are really dedicated to delivering outstanding coffee and creative experiences while staying focused on making an impact in the local economy," Tucker wrote in an email to Fort Worth Magazine. "Now, more than ever, it is so important to keep our money where our heart is."
