Blackland Distillery, located in The Foundry District
Blackland Distillery is getting bigger, with a 4,500-square-foot expansion currently underway for The Foundry District distillery and tasting room at 2612 Weisenberger St.
The project includes the addition of a second rick house (that is, a barrel room) and a VIP event space, along with an expansion of the bottling line and renovation of the corporate offices. Fort Worth-based Link Partners, LLC is heading commercial reconstruction, working with architect Philip Newburn and engineering firm Baird, Hampton & Brown.
According to Blackland, the expansion will allow the company to increase operations, expand production capacity, and ultimately promote future business growth. The distillery just six months ago began a partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, a beverage alcohol distributor with operations in 44 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and Canada. Since February, Blackland says it's expanded its reach throughout Texas and plans to distribute in more Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits markets by 2022, entering Oklahoma starting in October.
The expansion project is also scheduled to finish in October.
“Blackland Distillery is growing rapidly. Expanding our current space was a necessary step to keep up with the rising demand,” Blackland owner Markus Kypreos said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to continue our legacy in the heart of Fort Worth’s Cultural District — which has been a key catalyst to our success — as our brand gains popularity in these exciting new markets.”
