The former home of the now-shuttered McKinley's Fine Bakery and Cafe will soon be welcoming a new restaurant with a distinctly health-minded menu.
Fast-casual chain Flower Child, which also has locations in Dallas, Austin, and Houston, is opening its first Fort Worth Location at 1616 South University Drive, Ste. 301, in University Park Village. This will be the Phoenix-based brand's 10th location in Texas and 29th in the U.S.
The menu includes an array of offerings catering to various diets including vegan, vegetarian, keto, and paleo. A popular item is the Mother Earth Bowl, made with ancient grains, sweet potato, portobello mushroom, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, charred onion, leafy greens, red pepper miso vinaigrette, and hemp seed. There are also salads, wraps, and entrées for which diners can choose a protein like chicken or salmon to pair with sides like Yuzu Brussels sprouts or gluten-free mac and cheese.
