Morgan's Ice Cream
There's a new dessert shop on South Main Street with quite the shindig planned for National Ice Cream Month.
Morgan's Ice Cream, the shop that took over the former Gypsy Scoops space at 321 S. Main St., is celebrating its grand opening from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Along with kid-friendly activities, gift card giveaways for the first 10 guests, and a bunch of free swag, the shop is also planning to debut its "new and improved" ice cream truck — as well as release a new flavor every hour, on the hour.
Run by the same couple behind Dwell Coffee & Biscuits, Jeff and Stephanie Brannon ("Morgan" is the name of their daughter and also Stephanie's middle name), Morgan's has been open since last December. Flavors on the menu include Wookies Cookies (cinnamon sweet cream ice cream with chocolate shavings and crumbled oatmeal cookies); Cookie Monster (yellow cake sweet cream ice cream, naturally dyed blue, with Oreo and chocolate chip cookie crumbles); and a vegan, gluten-free option called Fudged Up Cookie Dough, made with chocolate oat and coconut milk.
