Fort Worth's newest coffee shop will have a decidedly charitable focus when it opens, hopefully by spring, right in the heart of the Medical District.
White Rhino Coffee is targeting an April or May opening at 1201 Eighth Ave., next to Hotel Revel, says Mary O'Connor, chief marketing officer of The Parvin Group (the company that runs White Rhino alongside other businesses in law and real estate).
Fort Worth will be the shop's sixth location. The brand first launched in 2007 in Cedar Hill, later adding stores in Waxahachie, Red Oak, Bishop Arts, and Arlington.
Using beans from Dallas-based roaster Tweed Coffee Roasters, White Rhino will serve classic drinks and signature lattes like the Sebastian (caramel, Irish cream, and white chocolate) and Snickerdoodle (vanilla, hazelnut, and cinnamon). There will also be tea, baked goods, and a selection of Southern fare like the popular maple-glazed chicken biscuit.
But aside from food and beverages, White Rhino will also have an emphasis on charity, O'Connor says, adding that The Parvin Group has given more than $1 million, as well as volunteer hours, to local organizations like the North Texas Food Bank.
Aptly located in Fort Worth's Medical District, White Rhino will also give back to first responders, and anyone on duty drinks free at the shop, O'Connor says.
"Fort Worth is a community that fits what our brand is," she says. "It's a community that we've witnessed give back to those around them. It's a close-knit community of friends."
