Wing It On!
A New England-based wing chain is dipping into the Fort Worth-Dallas market.
Wing It On! has signed an agreement to bring five locations to the Metroplex. While the restaurant is still in the site selection process, a spokesperson for Wing It On! confirmed that at least one location will be in Fort Worth.
These will be the concept's first locations in the area. Another Texas location opened in the Houston/Spring market back in March — all part of an overall plan to secure 25 to 30 additional units by the end of year.
“Texas is prime for growth right now, and we want to take advantage of all the great opportunities in the state right now,” Matt Ensero, CEO and founder of Wing It On!, said in a statement. “This new deal allows us to grow our presence in another key area of the state. I look forward to creating even more wing nuts in Texas.”
The menu lists a diverse array of sauce options for its wings and boneless tenders, ranging from honey mustard and Asian garlic to Nashville hot and mango habanero. Dry rub options are also available, along with crispy chicken sandwiches, salads, sides, and customizable seasoned fries.
Ensero founded the restaurant in 2011. So the story goes, according to Wing It On!, Ensero and his friends would engage in a debacle over "who was driving 30-plus minutes to pick up wings from some of their favorite spots in nearby towns." The commute would result in cold, soggy wings by the time they reached home, inspiring Ensero to create his own concept, opening the first restaurant in his hometown of Waterbury, Connecticut.
According to Wing It On!, takeout and delivery drive nearly 90% of store revenues, and only a small portion of the restaurant is reserved for dine-in, keeping overhead low. The restaurant also offers a mobile app and third-party delivery integration software, along with a food truck franchise option.
Wing It On! is currently seeking qualified single-unit and multi-unit owners looking to invest with the emerging brand. More information is available at wingiton.com.
