Silver Star Spirits
Silver Star 1849 Straight Bourbon Whiskey
June 6, 1849 marks the day Major Ripley Arnold established a U.S. Army outpost in honor of the late Major General William Jenkins Worth — calling it "Fort Worth."
The rest is, well, history.
Exactly 171 years later, local distillery Silver Star Spirits is launching its first straight bourbon whiskey, dubbed "1849," in honor of the year Fort Worth was established. The bourbon will debut Saturday, and the distillery will also open for tours and have bottle sales from noon to 3 p.m.
The distillery, located at 1734 E. El Paso St. just off Highway 287, is the only place customers will be able to find the bourbon for now. On Aug. 1, the bourbon will become available to Silver Star's Texas retail partners.
