Taste of the NFL
Taste of the NFL will take place at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans on February 8, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. PST. The Super Bowl’s largest purpose-driven culinary event will feature some of the nation’s hottest culinary talent, including (left to right) Andrew Zimmern, Tim Love, Lasheeda Perry, Carla Hall, and Mark Bucher.
As Super Bowl LIX approaches, New Orleans is preparing for more than just gridiron greatness. The city will host “Taste of the NFL,” the Super Bowl’s largest purpose-driven culinary event, on Feb. 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. CST at the National WWII Museum, according to a release. This year, the event promises to bring together an exciting mix of football legends, world-class chefs, and community leaders, all working toward a cause that’s as impactful as the big game itself.
Among the culinary stars joining the festivities, there is none other than Fort Worth’s very own celebrity chef Tim Love, who’s known for infusing his Texas roots into everything he creates. Love is no stranger to the high-stakes culinary scene, and his presence at “Taste of the NFL” will no doubt add a dose of bold, Southern flavor to the star-studded affair.
Presented by Frito-Lay, Quaker, and the PepsiCo Foundation, “Taste of the NFL” isn’t just a night of indulgence — it’s an event with a mission. Proceeds from the evening will benefit GENYOUth, a nonprofit organization dedicated to tackling student hunger and food insecurity. With the support of over 30 NFL Legends, including Doug Flutie and Kyle Rudolph, and a host of celebrated chefs like Andrew Zimmern, Carla Hall, Lasheeda Perry, and Mark Bucher, this event will deliver a menu as dynamic as the football heroes in attendance.
The food alone is a reason to be there. Guests can savor a Louisiana-inspired blend of cuisines, curated by chefs representing some of the city’s finest restaurants, including Restaurant R'evolution, Brennan’s, and Dooky Chase’s. Local talents like Jackie Diaz of Jamaican Jerk House and Vyoone Lewis of Vyoone's will join the lineup, and a special dessert area — curated by chef Lasheeda Perry — will keep everyone sweet as they mingle with NFL stars.
Love, whose culinary empire stretches from Texas to New York, brings his unique vision to the table. Known for his bold flavors and Texas-style cooking, Love is a perfect fit for the event's mission to celebrate both football and food. His participation highlights not only his skill but also his commitment to giving back.
But this event isn’t just about the food. An autograph-signing session with NFL Legends, curated cocktails, and a live auction offering Super Bowl LIX tickets is also scheduled to take place. Attendees will also enjoy a silent sports memorabilia auction and a unique "lunchbox" wall for charity, presented by Walmart. All this, while enjoying live entertainment from Southern University musicians and surprise moments that will keep the energy high.
At its core, “Taste of the NFL” aims to make a difference, addressing the stark reality that 1 in 5 children in the U.S. experiences food insecurity. It’s a reminder that something as simple as sharing a meal can have a far-reaching impact, especially when it’s paired with the passion of a few culinary masters.
For those lucky enough to attend, it’s a chance to enjoy world-class food, rub elbows with football greats, and support a cause that ensures no child has to go hungry
Tickets for the event can be purchased at “Taste of the NFL” or through Ticketmaster.
