TX Whiskey
Seven years. That’s how long it takes a whisper of an idea to become a spirit that speaks volumes.
At Whiskey Ranch — a sun-drenched, 112-acre expanse nestled into the Fort Worth hills — TX Whiskey has been quietly working on something special. And now, like a band unveiling its long-awaited opus, they’re stepping into the spotlight with their Seven-Year Anniversary Batch: Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey Bottled-In-Bond. It’s the twelfth act in the brand’s beloved Experimental Series, and possibly its most personal yet.
This isn’t just another bottle. It’s a memory, aged and bottled. The kind you might share around a fire or on a porch swing as the Texas sky turns from blue to bruised gold. Laid down in 2018 — the same year TX fired up their continuous copper column still for the first time — the bourbon has spent every second since soaking up not only oak, but identity. This is the spirit of Fort Worth in a glass. Sun-warped. Swagger-filled. And just smooth enough to keep you honest.
“It’s a historic release for the brand,” says Craig Blair, TX’s Head Blender. “The 7-Year has a unique flavor profile that reflects the bold spirit of innovation we’ve cultivated at Whiskey Ranch.”
And bold it is.
This limited-release bourbon is a tour through Texas, both on the nose and the palate. Vanilla and caramel walk in first, hand-in-hand with roasted pecans and a crisp note of red apple. Then come the deeper tracks: dark cherries, crème brûlée, warm oak spice. It finishes like an encore you never want to end — cotton candy and brown sugar lingering like a melody you hum days later.
Only 1,700 bottles will be available, each in a 350ml format priced at $39.99 — a nod, perhaps, to the idea that something rare should also be within reach. There’s a limit of eight bottles per customer over 30 days. Enough to share. Or enough to stash and sip quietly, in celebration or reflection.
On Saturday, April 26, the gates at Whiskey Ranch swing open for a release party that sounds more like a summer festival. Live music, food trucks, and the kind of camaraderie only a great bottle can inspire. There’s even complimentary bottle engraving with purchase — because some milestones deserve names, initials, or maybe just the date you’ll want to remember. Tickets are $10 and include a cocktail and entry. It all feels like a hometown show where you know every lyric, but still get chills when the chorus hits.
Blair puts it best: “This one’s a testament to our roots. It’s a refined expression of where we started and where we’re headed.”
Seven years ago, this bourbon was just a heartbeat in a barrel. Now, it’s the sound of TX Whiskey hitting its stride — bold, patient, and distinctly Fort Worth.
