The first Fort Worth location of popular brunch-focused restaurant, Bread Winners Café & Bakery, has officially closed its University Park Village location.
The restaurant opened to much fan-fare in June 2017, in the space vacated by long-time tenant Blue Mesa, who in turn built its new location near Montgomery Plaza. At University Park Village, Bread Winners struggled to find its intended audience and ended after a nearly two year run.
Andrew Popp, a partner with the restaurant group that owns Bread Winners, confirmed the closure "as of May 20th" this morning.
"Our remaining five other Bread Winners Café locations in Dallas, Park Cities, Plano and Trophy Club will remain business as usual," he says.
The original Bread Winners Café & Bakery, located in Uptown Dallas will be celebrating 25 years this July.
"We are sad this endeavor to bring our brand west has not worked out the way we had anticipated," Popp says. "It's always been our dream to open a location in this community. We’ve developed many friendships and loyal patrons over the last few years, and we will miss being located right in the middle of this community but invite those to visit our restaurant in Trophy Club, Texas."
