There’s an old saying that food brings people together, and if that’s true, then Cliff Bowling and his sons, Daniel and Patrick, are setting the table for something special in Fort Worth. The trio of military veterans — Cliff served over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, while Patrick and Daniel followed suit with eight years in the Air Force and ten years in the Navy, respectively — have traded in their uniforms for aprons, opening their second location of The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill at the Shops at Chisholm Trail, according to a release.
The 2,200-square-foot fast-casual eatery, located at 9654 Red Dirt Road, marks the latest expansion for the Bowling family, who introduced Fort Worth to the brand last year with their first location in Crestwood. Their mission? To provide locals with a healthier, flavor-packed alternative to the usual grab-and-go fare.
“As a family, we really enjoy interacting with the community and bringing people together over a delicious meal,” said Cliff Bowling. “We’re excited to expand The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill footprint throughout Fort Worth so we can introduce healthier options to locals and change the way guests see fast-casual dining.”
And what an experience it is. The menu leans heavily into traditional Greek flavors, with house-made dishes prepared fresh daily. The signature Great Greek Gyro, along with lamb, steak, and chicken souvlaki plates, keep things classic, while customizable options like rice bowls and Greek salads allow diners to mix and match to their heart’s content. For those looking to dive even deeper, the restaurant offers a lineup of sides, including made-to-order Feta Fries, four signature dips (hummus, tzatziki, melitzanosalata, and tirokafteri), and handcrafted desserts like baklava, rice pudding, and a particularly indulgent baklava ice cream.

The Bowlings are no strangers to the restaurant business. After years of military service, they turned their attention to hospitality in 2012, opening their first two eateries before bringing The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill to Fort Worth. Now, with over three decades of combined experience in the industry, they’re aiming to redefine fast-casual dining in the city.
For those looking to bring a taste of Greece to their next gathering, the restaurant also offers catering, featuring build-your-own gyro kits, souvlaki skewers, an array of sides, and, of course, dessert.
