Yucatan Taco Stand closed in late December, covering the windows and posting signs that said they’re closed for maintenance.
Yucatan Taco Stand has been in and out of business a lot in the past few months. After receiving an abysmal health inspection report in August of 2019, it closed for a time to correct all those issues. And this was not Yucatan’s first run-in with the city health inspector.
Then the restaurant at 909 W. Magnolia Ave. reopened with a huge sign across its patio touting new management, apparently determined to bounce back from its extensive violations list and the subsequent bad press that naturally followed.
Well, bad news for high octane margarita lovers, Yucatan is closed again … but only for now.
They closed in late December, covering the windows and posting signs that said they’re closed for maintenance. A full month later, and the “maintenance” issues continued, spawning rumors of a permanent closure.
But corporate says they are not closing the location at all, and are instead in the midst of a remodel. “We will reopen in March,” says Athena Hinkhouse, director of operation and recruiting partner.
So if you call the restaurant’s main line and are met with a disconnection recording, that’s only because they don’t have anyone there to answer it while the remodel is underway. “We are thrilled about our remodel and look forward to serving everyone in March,” Hinkhouse says.
