The Yuengling Co. LLC has chosen Andrews Distributing to sell the company’s 192-year-old beer brand to bars, restaurants and retail stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Yuengling and Andrews said Tuesday.
Yuengling announced 14 Texas distributors who will bring Yuengling beers to the state this fall for the first time. D.G. Yuengling & Son of Pottsville, Pa., and Molson Coors Beverage Co., formed the Fort Worth-based Yuengling Co. as a joint venture in September, to bring the beer to Texas and expand its footprint westward. Molson Coors will brew the beer to be distributed in Texas at its Fort Worth plant.
“Yuengling is America’s oldest and one of the most loved beer brands,” Mike McGuire, Andrews president and CEO, said in a release. “We are elated to bring Yuengling to Texans in Dallas-Fort Worth. The Yuengling portfolio, family, team and operations are best in class. I know this will be one of the biggest arrivals in Texas that will celebrated by beer lovers across the state.”
Yuengling’s footprint currently is limited to 22 states on the East Coast. The company announced in January it would begin distributing the beer in Texas and would brew it in Fort Worth.
