Don't miss the Fort Worth Public Library's next Author Series event with author Ruth J. Simmons as she discusses her book ๐๐ฑ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ: ๐๐ฏ๐ฆ ๐๐ช๐ณ๐ญโ๐ด ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ฆ at the East Regional Library.
Before Ruth J. Simmons became the first Black president of an Ivy League university, she spent part of her childhood in a home that had no running water, no electricity and no books to read. She says that part of her early experiences, as the 12th child of sharecroppers, are an important part of her journey to success.
Join us as we discuss her book, "Up Home: One Girl's Journey." A Q&A will follow the presentation. This program is only available in person at the East Regional Library. We designed this program specifically for adults.
