Beethoven sets a romantic tone for February as the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth presents the Franco-Belgian Connection concert at the Modern Art Museum on Saturday, Feb. 1. The concert begins at 2 p.m. The Pre-Concert Conversation provides insights and context to the composers and music at 1:15 p.m.
Beethoven wrote his Piano Trio in B-flat major, WoO 39 for the young daughter of a woman who some believe was his “Immortal Beloved.” The delicate composition starts the program performed by the Busch Trio, Gary Levinson and D.J. Cheek. Levinson is the senior principal associate concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and CMSFW artistic director. Cheek is the principal viola for the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
The Busch Trio, based in Amsterdam, formed more than 12 years ago after brothers Omri and Ori Epstein met Mathieu van Bellen at London’s Royal College of Music. They have toured all over the world, winning numerous awards as a group and individually.
Program:
Ludwig van Beethoven — Piano Trio in B-flat major, WoO 39
Ludwig van Beethoven — Piano Trio No. 1 in E-flat major, Op. 1 No. 1
César Franck — Piano Quintet in F minor
Student tickets are $5, seniors $35 and general admission $40. Tickets can be purchased at the website link below.
