Music, art and storytelling collide in a spectacular family concert experience! And kids get to be part of the show with their original artwork.
Join the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth for another of its Family Concert Series based on Russian composer Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky’s beloved masterpiece, “Pictures at an Exhibition.” The program features a live woodwind quintet with some of the area’s finest classical musicians.
The one-hour interactive concert has no intermission and is a kid-friendly introduction to classical music.
Elementary, middle school and high school students are invited to submit their original artwork inspired by Mussorgsky’s music. Chosen entries will be showcased during the concert. Complete art contest details are at www.cmsfw/fcs.org. You’ll find a YouTube link to an orchestra recording of the music. Listen for inspiration and watch imaginations soar. Deadline for submissions is Jan. 20.
