One the evening of Feb. 9, 1964, Ed Sullivan introduced the Beatles to America as teens across the country were glued to their TV sets. The appearance sparked a movement of musical creativity across the country. In Fort Worth, the music scene showed a new vibrancy in its songwriting and musicianship. The seeds of the counterculture were planted, flourished and nurtured, with Fort Worth and Dallas playing a pivotal role.
