What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is the ability to inspire others to make an impact. Influencing positivity and taking a genuine interest in others radiates beauty that can be felt instead of seen.
Who is your beauty/style icon?
Kate Middleton. She is the perfect example of grace and class.
Who is your female role model, and why?
Ellen DeGeneres. Women today have a huge range of expectations to fill and she encompasses every quality a strong woman should have in today's society. She balances compassion with ambition, charity with success, and sincerity with humor. She has worked hard to become successful and uses her influence and resources to create a stronger community. I may not agree with all of her opinions, but I respect her ability to stick to them.
What are your hobbies?
I mostly study right now! I am currently working on my doctorate, so that fills most of my time. When I have a break, I enjoy working out (running and hot yoga are my favorites), spending time with my family and friends, and anything active outside. I serve on the Red Shoe Society's executive committee benefiting Fort Worth's Ronald McDonald House and am an active member of Fort Worth's Junior League.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I won my fantasy football league last year. I have high hopes for this season too…
Why did you choose Fort Worth?
I am blessed to call Fort Worth my hometown and I chose to stay because of the unique culture. I have traveled a lot and lived abroad but I have never found anywhere else that has great qualities of a small town and benefits of a big city all in one place. It really is the best of both worlds.
What is your favorite thing about Fort Worth?
There is something for everyone in Fort Worth! There is western heritage in the Stockyards, culture in the museum district, outdoor activities along the Trinity River, exciting football games at TCU and a variety of amazing restaurants scattered in between. It doesn't matter what your cup of tea is, you can find it here.
What do you consider your best feature or characteristic? (physical or non-physical)
I can carry on a conversation with just about anyone. Talking to people come naturally for me and I can usually find common ground easily. Everyone has a story to tell and I enjoy hearing different life experiences.
