What she teaches: Pre-K
How long she's taught: 17 years, including 14 at J.T. Stevens
Education: Stephen F. Austin University, bachelor of science, Interdisciplinary studies with early childhood specialization and ESL. Tarrant County College.
Why she teaches: I teach because I enjoy empowering children to overcome obstacles and achieve success in their learning. I love to see the spark that occurs when students understand something for the first time, or master a new skill.
How she connects with students: I connect with my students by building trust with them, and letting them know I care about them. I do this by learning about their personal lives, showing interest in them and what they like to do. I also share with them my likes and dislikes, and how together we can make the world a better place.
Why she's a Top Teacher: “She has the ability to connect with each student by addressing each student’s unique talents and specific needs. The rapport and relationships she builds with her students and parents translates to academic success. I can’t tell you how many parents request her every year. She is very well respected and loved.” – Principal Andrea Lange
