Fort Worth Magazine’s 2020 Dream Street — the first time we’ve collaborated on three Dream Homes under construction simultaneously — is moving quickly toward completion.
The three luxury homes, being built side by side in a cul-de-sac in Southlake’s Oxford Place development off of North Kimball Avenue and East Highland Street, are due to be completed in late August and handed over to teams of interiors specialists. Those three designers, who have collaborated with the builders so far on everything from flooring to color palette, textures, and tile selection, will furnish the homes for four weeks of showings in October to benefit a Wish With Wings, the magazine’s official charity.
Air conditioning is in at all three homes. Paint, fixtures, cabinets, flooring and appliances are coming in. Paper punch lists hang on the doors of various rooms in each home. At the WillowTree Custom Homes dream home being built by Travis Franks, also the Oxford Place developer, paper covers the floors and windows, and light fixtures are protected by plastic. Once those coverings come off, “it’s going to look like a show home,” Franks said this week at the house.
