Pantone's Color of the Year has been in the mix for six months now, so it's the perfect time to remind you of the meaning behind this year's choice – Greenery (15-0343). The company selects a symbolic color every year, choosing one that's a reflection of the current state of the world. According to Pantone, the yellow-green shade, or "nature's neutral," is symbolic of change, fresh starts and new beginnings. "Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose."
Take that meaning as you will, but either way, color us happy that this hue is being seen on everything from tiles to textiles. (Above:Louis XV Style Bergere Chairs, Chairish, $1,440, chairish.com)
