Marketing & Events Director


The Marketing and Events Director is responsible for creating opportunities and materials to develop, enhance and broadly promote Panther City Media Group’s brand’s and events. The ideal candidate will be a skilled marketing strategist with a passion for the job, and the ability to employ effective marketing techniques to increase the company’s market share and maximize revenues in order to thrive against competitors.

This position will drive creativity and enthusiasm in others and work cross-functionally across multiple departments in the company including sales, creative, editorial and digital to develop and execute successful programs in support of the brand and of profitable revenue goals.



  • OVERALL EVENT STRATEGY: Collaborate with internal teams and lead strategy for overall attendance and revenue growth (sponsorship and ticket sales) year-over-year of company-produced events. 
  • EVENT EXECUTION: Lead the management and execution of the three phases of company-produced events: pre-event, event and post-event. Pre-event: Establish event objectives; event kick-off meetings; establish production and promotional timelines; secure event location; plan programming; negotiate, secure, schedule and communicate with event partners; negotiate, secure and approve permits and contracts; prepare and manage budgets; collaborate with videographer and creative team to produce event-related videos; book advertising trade ads; maintain RSVP lists, coordinate seating arrangements and prepare nametag documents. On-site event: act as lead point person with venue, staff and vendors; execute set-up and tear-down (i.e. tables, linens, prep bars, coordinate with delivery service, presentation power point programs, music, speakers, decor). Post-event: Reconcile event P&Ls, creation and distribution of surveys; sponsorship recaps.
  • EVENT MARKETING & PROMOTIONS: Collaborate with internal teams to design and produce company-produced event-related marketing materials including direct mail, e-mail blasts, landing pages, social posts, ROS ads and on-site collaterals. 
  • EVENT SPONSORSHIP SALES: Collaborate with internal sale team to craft event sponsorship sales packages, identify prospective sponsors, execute sponsorship contracts and act as company contact for event partnership. 
  • EVENT TICKET SALES: Develop and execute multi-level ticket sales strategies, establish strategic price points and target-market groups. Create sales pages on Eventbrite and coordinate fulfillment of ticket sales. Serve as the main point of contact for ticket buyers. 
  • COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Manage nonprofit (charity event sponsorship) contracts, recording details in Excel spreadsheet. Place nonprofit magazine order for circulation team and attend events, as a guest when opportunities are available.
  • PUBLIC RELATIONS: Oversee creation and delivery of press releases pitching media opportunities. Create deepen relationships with local PR firms.
