Fort Worth Magazine, a major publication within the nation’s fifth largest media market, is seeking an online contributor who will focus on writing about Fort Worth’s burgeoning dining scene.
The contract position will focus on writing quick (400 words or less) web articles via scoops, press releases, and old-school journalism tactics. We are seeking a go-getter who will bring stories to our audience before the competition does.

OVERVIEW
Stories will include but won’t be limited to:
- Restaurant/bar/cafe openings and closings
- Interviews with high-profile chefs and restaurateurs
- Restaurant/bar/cafe reviews
- Menu updates
- Other quick, informative pieces around the city’s dining and nightlife scenes
THE POSITION
Someone with local knowledge and/or a desire to learn the city’s food scene is a major plus. The position will require telecommuting (so owning a laptop and car are a necessity), superb knowledge of AP Style, excellent syntax, and flawless grammar (we are pro Oxford comma around these parts). Whoever fills the role will work closely with the magazine’s digital editor to hash out assignments and create an editorial calendar.
The writer will receive pay per article submitted with a set amount guaranteed per month.
