Trademark Property Company has officially broken ground on Westbend Residences, a 321-unit multifamily community in Fort Worth’s University District. The seven-story development is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
The project sits on 3.5 acres along the Trinity Trails. Plans call for premium finishes, two resort-style pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a dog spa, and a two-story parking garage. A ground-floor restaurant will further activate the district’s dining and street-level experience.
“We’ve designed this community to embrace its surroundings by connecting residents directly to everything the University District and the Trinity Trail have to offer, while also creating a vibrant living environment with premium amenities and thoughtful design,” said Chad A. Colley, multifamily and mixed-use partner at Trademark, in a statement.
The Fort Worth City Council approved an economic development agreement that provides $3 million in grants over 10 years to help fund the $82 million project.
Westbend Residences represents the second phase of the Westbend mixed-use development, which Trademark redeveloped in 2016 into 281,000 square feet of office and retail space, now fully leased. The district also features an extensive public art program, including Laura Kimpton’s Love sculpture, pieces from the Amon Carter photography collection, and murals by local artists.
“Expanding our mix of uses at Westbend allows us to create a walkable neighborhood where residential, office, retail, and public spaces come together to form a true mixed-use community,” said Terry Montesi, founder and CEO at Trademark.
The sustainable project will meet National Green Building Standards and qualify for LEED Silver certification.
