The Hulen area will soon be getting a boutique, group fitness studio that focuses not only on strengthening the body but the spirit and mind as well.
Opening up at 3322 Hulen St., RevFit is a holistic fitness experience that owner and managing partner Gary D. Simpson says is for people who want to "lead [their] physical health with [their] mental health. Not to be competitive, but to know they’re in a better place.”
RevFit’s group fitness classes are a choreographed experience, with dim lights, music, and movement, but without the glass walls and bright lights, Simpson says.
In light of the pandemic, Simpson says special UV lights and air filters will continuously disinfect the space and prevent the spread of COVID-19, and up to 30 people can fit in a class while maintaining proper distancing.
RevFit’s mission statement — "awaken your body, engage your mind, revive your spirit" — is built upon seven tenets: authenticity, discipline, courage, power, community, curiosity, and grace.
“We’re trying to make a really simple language that allows us to connect,” Simpson says. “Not in a preacher sort of way but in a unity sort of way.”
Although RevFit is not scheduled to open its doors until May, the fitness boutique is offering free outdoor trial classes on Saturdays at varying locations. Memberships can be purchased online with special "Pre-Rev" and "Semi-Private" options available. More information is available at revfittexas.com.
