In a little more than a week, the NASCAR All-Star Race will be coming to Fort Worth for the first time; so, to celebrate, Texas Motor Speedway is bringing a cavalcade of cars to the Stockyards.
The NASCAR All-Star Parade will take place Sunday in advance of All-Star Race weekend on June 12 – 13. Featuring 15 NASCAR stock cars, Texas Motor Speedway pace cars, and Wild Asphalt Circus vehicles traveling from East Exchange Avenue to North Main Street and Stockyards Boulevard, the parade will take place twice during the day, immediately following the Fort Worth Herd's cattle drive at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Additionally, yard games, food, beverages, giveaways, and live music will be set up at the Livestock Exchange Building lawn from noon to 6 p.m.; and vehicles will be on display in the Horseshoe Parking Lot – East (next to the Livestock Exchange) from 11:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Leading the parades will be Visit Fort Worth president and CEO Bob Jameson and Texas Motor Speedway president and general manager Eddie Gossage, who announced he would be stepping down from his post after a career that's spanned more than three decades.
“I’m not sure what my next adventure will be," Gossage said back in May. "I do know [my wife] Melinda and I are looking forward to some more fun with the grandkids. But first, we’re going to corral some Texas-sized fun one last time with the fans at the NASCAR All-Star Race."
The All-Star Race comes to Fort Worth after being held at Charlotte Motor Speedway since 1985 (with the exceptions of 1986, when it took place at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and 2020, when it took place in Bristol). The triple-header weekend also includes the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.
