As the world prepares to watch amateur athletes compete at the highest level there is, TCU will be well represented by nine student and alumni athletes, which is the most in the school’s history.
These TCU students and alumni will be participating in five separate athletic events that include basketball, beach volleyball, swimming, tennis, and rifle.
Surprise, surprise on the last one.
Representing TCU in basketball will be Hailey Van Lith, competing in the 3x3 basketball tournament, playing for the U.S.
Van Lith marks the only active collegian who was selected to a USA Basketball Men's or Women's National Team in 5-on-5 or 3x3 competition.
"Getting to compete for my country in the Olympics and represent my family, my home, and TCU is a dream come true," Van Lith said in a release. "I am extremely humbled and grateful for this opportunity. I cannot wait to compete in Paris and be able to showcase my skills on the biggest global stage of them all. Go Horned Frogs!"
Van Lith is the third member of TCU women's basketball to qualify for the Summer Olympics, as alumni Amy Okonkwo (2019) and Tomi Taiwo (2023) will compete for Team Nigeria in 5-on-5.

On the beach volleyball side will be Daniela Alvarez ’24 and Tania Moreno both representing (Spain).
The duo rank No. 14 on the FIVB Provisional Olympic Ranking with 5,700 points, according to TCU. The highest 17 ranked teams on the Olympic Ranking at the end of the qualifying stage earn a berth to the Olympics.
Alvarez and Moreno are coming off one of the best performances of their career placing fourth overall at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Espinho Elite 16. This duo mark the first Olympians in TCU Beach Volleyball program history.
In Tennis will be Cam Norrie representing Great Britain. Norrie is a three-time All-American for TCU who played from 2015 to 2017. Norrie is the first British Olympian in the history of TCU tennis.

The Olympic tennis tournament runs from July 27-Aug. 4 at the Stade Roland Garros.
In swimming both Rhanishka Gibbs (Bahamas) and Jadon Wuilliez (Antigua) will compete as current students.
Gibbs (sophomore) is the first female swimmer from TCU since 2008 to compete in the Olympic games. She secured her spot at the 2024 Olympics by placing second at the Bahamian Championships. Wuilliez (senior) will represent Antigua in the 100m breaststroke at the Olympics. He secured his place on the Olympic team with his performance at the 2023 World Championships in Japan.
For the rifle competition, Stephanie Grundsoee ’23 will compete for Denmark, making her the second TCU Rifle Team member to go to the Olympics, joining Sarah Scherer who competed in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.
Grundsoee just wrapped up a successful five-year span as a member of the TCU Rifle Team. She finished her career as TCU's first 12-time first-team All-American, according to a release. Before she graduated in ’23, TCU qualified for the NCAA Tournament each season, culminating in a National Championship this past season.
Before this, the Rifle Team took home three Air Rifle National Championships (2021, 2022, 2024), finishing as the National Runners-Up in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Individually, Grundsoee qualified for the individual finals in air rifle three times and smallbore twice.
The Rifle portion of the Olympics is set to get underway July 27 and runs through Aug. 2.
