I found myself wondering what I would see next. As I turned the corner, I thought to myself, There cannot be more.
But there was.
The Market at Ridglea is a cooperative retail space with over 50 vendors that provides a unique shopping experience. The layout is almost interactive, with stalls and hallways set up to showcase various vendors. One room might have cowhide and spiced nuts; the next might have a rainbow wall of bows. Throughout the building are little nooks that may contain handmade goods or potted houseplants. The Market at Ridglea truly has something to offer everyone.
The Market is the creation of local small businesswoman Amanda Wear, co-owner of Cowtown Couture. Wear decided to open The Market after finding an empty building available at 3400 Bernie Anderson Ave.
“We’ve been in several spaces over the years, just never found exactly what we liked as a vendor, and this building was here,” Wear says. “I had enough friends with similar businesses that I knew would be interested in joining in with us, and the response has been overwhelming.”
A majority of vendors at The Market are from the North Texas area. With many businesses still trying to recover from COVID-19, Wear hopes that the small businesses at The Market will be able to get their products back out into the world.
Vendors include Cowtown Couture, Two Sisters Teahouse, Arise Africa, Fitted, Franki Ray, and many more. A full list of vendors can be found on The Market at Ridglea’s website.
The Market at Ridglea opens Saturday and will be hosting a grand opening party on June 5 with music by Andrew Sullivan and light refreshments.
