Twisted X Global Brands is deploying its resources to Kerr County to assist victims of devastating flooding in July.
The company, based in Decatur, has donated 5,000 pairs of new shoes to support recovery efforts along the Guadalupe River region. The donation was made in collaboration with longtime partner and nonprofit Soles4Souls, which is distributing the footwear in partnership with local relief groups to those most in need, including displaced families, first responders, and volunteers.
“Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families impacted as well as the first responders and volunteers who have been working tirelessly to help during this unimaginable tragedy,” said Prasad Reddy, CEO of Twisted X Global Brands, in a statement. “As a Texas-rooted company, we feel a personal responsibility to show up for our communities when they need it most and Soles4Souls helps us deliver meaningful support in real time.”
The initiative is part of a broader commitment by both organizations to crisis response and community aid.
To date, Twisted X has donated 63,000 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls for people in need in Texas and around the world. The donation is valued at $7.5 million, according to the company.
“While getting power and utilities is the highest priority after a disaster, there is a great need for shoes and clothing, and our partnership with Twisted X Global Brands helps us fill those gaps,” said Buddy Teaster, president and CEO of Soles4Souls.
Twisted X was founded in 2005. In 2008, the company was bought out of bankruptcy by Reddy, who redefined its model and instituted a commitment to sustainability and philanthropy.
