Texans and TCU Horned Frogs will be watching out for one of their own this Sunday, Feb. 7. Bridgeport, Texas native and former TCU football player Colin Jones will be playing for the Carolina Panthers during Super Bowl 50.
Colin Jones' collegiate record showcases his talent in the sport. During his time at TCU he played in 45 games with 17 starts. Jones had a total of 124 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, eight defensed passes and a fumble recovery. In 2010, he was the second-team All-mountain West Conference choice. Let's not forget the 21-19 TCU win over Wisconsin during the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day in 2011. He set a career-high with 10 tackles during his final game at the Rose Bowl.
Jones began his career with the Panthers in 2012 after the San Francisco 49ers traded him for a seventh-round draft choice.
Jones is not the only TCU-related Panther. Danny Morrison is the president of the Carolina Panthers and was the former Athletic Director of TCU from 2005-2009.
You can catch Colin Jones playing in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 5:30 CST on CBS.
