Ta-Ta for now, Tillman's Roadhouse. The cultural district is losing the wooden deer heads and giant, rustic chandeliers made famous by the Fort Worth location. The new renovation, debuting in October, is bringing an entirely new concept to the West 7th area, by feeding the desires of market and restaurant-goers.
Sara Tillman and Todd Fiscus, owners of Tillman's Roadhouse, said management will remain the same, but the three-in-one concept will be renovated into Fort Worth Market + Table.
“Tillman's has been a journey of sorts of top restaurants, appearances on The Chew, and continued “best of items” in Fort Worth. All the while, the dining arena has changed around us. So, it's time for us to change,” Fiscus said.
Celebrity chef “Kalen Jane” Morgenstern will serve as head chef and general manager for the new grocer and dining combo, Fort Worth Market + Table. Morgenstern said nothing of the old Roadhouse aesthetic will remain.
The new chic and modern element will offer three dining and food options: Market, Living Room at Market and The Table.
Market
Early birds can step into into FW Market + Table at 7 a.m. and can find a deli counter accompanied with an area of grab-and-go snacks and meals. A casual seating area will be made for those wanting to enjoy their morning coffee or fresh-squeezed juice, as well as, savor a taste off the new breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.
Morgenstern said, “[I'll] be keeping the menu as Texas, local and seasonally driven as possible.”
A designated pantry area will be offered to locals and passerbys to pick up the basics including eggs, sugar, olive oil and more.
Living Room @ Market
The second sector provides guests a chance to savor 16 local tap beers, craft cocktails, fresh-made coffee and home-crafted juices in the most comfortable place. The Living Room will feel a lot like it sounds. Whether you prefer to unwind on the outside terrace with a glass of wine, or escape to your favorite lounge chair indoors, this double-feature area offers something for everyone. A lunch and dinner menu will be provided, including light plates for the ultimate relaxing, put-your-feet-up experience.
The Table
The third portion of the concept will introduce a 44-seated space offering guests a regularly changing menu that caters to what ingredients are fresh and in-season. An alternate entrance will be created for those coming specifically to dine. The Table will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays for dinner.
The last supper for Tillman's will be August 22. "We want to use these last two weeks to celebrate the last 5 1/2 years here," Fiscus says.
