There are several ways to get tested for COVID-19 in Fort Worth, and according to a news release from the city, the number of testing locations continues to grow every week.
The City of Fort Worth divides testing into three categories:
Free Community-Based Testing
Free testing for individuals with or without insurance is available, thanks to a partnership among the City of Fort Worth, University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Tarrant County.
These drive-thru tests occur at community-based facilities, and those who wish to be tested must fill out an online assessment tool. There's no need for a doctor's referral.
Free Testing
Walgreens at 8600 Camp Bowie West Blvd. is offering drive-thru, self-administered testing for free. Tests are by appointment only, and individuals must meet certain medical criteria. A doctor's referral is not required. Individuals can find out if they're eligible for testing by filling out this survey.
Fee-for-Service Testing
Some private facilities — such as Urgent Care for Kids, TotalCare, and MD Family Clinic — also offer testing on a fee-for-service basis. Most will require a medical doctor's referral before testing, and some locations offer tele-doctor services onsite to obtain the needed referral. A partial list of these locations is available here.
A full list of testing locations and more information can be found on the City of Fort Worth's website.
